I run SSOTS4.4 (a problem during installation, paused on 50% but seemed to be installed afterwards) and have installed SBS-7.4.2-tgz, BUT as the title says SBS won't start!

We need some more information on your set up especially what Hardware you are running before we can offer any advise.

My setup is a Qnap TS-119 and I have a SB-Classic and a Controller. To elaborate the status of my qnap ts-119 is that ssots4.4 is installed (had some problems though with installmenet pausing on 50% but after I closed the browser it seemed ssots4.4 WAS installed) and afterwards I installed sbs7.4.2.tgz. Then I tried to start sbs which failed! Here is the first lines of the log-file:

Server Log File
sstrl failed to start SqueezeboxServer.
To fix this problem you have several options:
1. Install the latest version of the module(s) using CPAN: sudo cpan Some::Module
2. Update the module's package using apt-get, yum, etc.
3. Run the .tar.gz version of Squeezebox Server which includes all required CPAN modules.
Hopes this helps!

Same issue on my side official SBS 7.4.2-30215 does not start whit SSOTS 4.4 on my Qnap TS-119 (3.1.2 Build 1014T).
Reasons are:
Missing CPAN modules and incompatible Audio-Scan (0.57) he is looking for 0.58

At this point I have to share I'm a bit puzzled with all the latest official SBS versions:
- SBS 7.4 was simply unable to work properly on many systems
- SBS 7.4.1 was no capable to play correctly WAV & AIFF (noise at end of files), notice this was ok since many prior SC version.
- SBS 7.4.2 is not starting on Qnap ...even prior nightly build where doing well e.g. SBS 7.4.2-29918 as posted here:
http://www.turbonas.com/forum/ --> SSOTS (SlimServer) v4.4 compatible w. Squeezebox Server 7.5

Is there a captain in this sinking boat ?
