View Full Version : Caution - Virus detected in two Subject-less emails

Just thought I'd let you know that Norton found the W32.Beagle virus in
attachments to two emails that are currently in the list.

They have no subject line; one is from "JASON", the other from "Paul". One
attachment is named "08_price.zip", the other is "price2.zip".

I'm not sure there is a virus in these attachments - Norton has
false-positived on me before -- but why take a chance on some unsolicited
attachements?

Unfortunately, it looks like a subscriber got infected and used the
mailing list to distribute. DO NOT OPEN THESE FILES!

We've notified the folks at the originating IP address. Apart from
disabling attachments and/or starting moderation, there's not much we
can do.
