When using SHOUTCast via softsqueeze, I hear "chipmunks" on most streams
that aren't 64kb or 128kb. Is there a way to make sure softqsqueeze
and/or slimserver correctly interprets the bit rates? I can't take any
more of "Crazy Train" with Ozzy on helium. Neall

Neall,

Can you point me at some of the streams that don't work correctly. I'll
check if Softsqueeze is having a problem decoding the streams.

Thanks,
Richard

In many cases, shoutcast streams can be 22kHz sample rate. Thhis sample rate
doesn't work for the squeezebox hardware. The server currently assumes 44.1kHz
I believe. This might be affecting softsqueeze as well.

Hi,

I think this is a sample rate problem in SoftSqueeze. If the stream is 48khz
it's plays a little too slow, and if its 22khz it plays much too fast. If
you have or convert to 44.1khz everything is ok
