Having problems running softsqueeze 1 under mandrake 10 and java 1.4.2

It works fine under xp jave 1.5

On changing tracks (either using the web interface or softsqueeze) the
music stops for a long period of time and sometimes does not start again
(connecting to slimserver on smae box). CPU useage rises to 100%.Using
softsqueeze 1 on xp connecting to the same mandrake box everything works
perfectly. Strange.

I will try and install java 1.5 but I had enough trouble installing the
non beta version with my limtie linux knowledge so installing a beta may
be a bit hopeful (any useful links for installing java 1.5 under linux
would be good!).

Cheers

John,

Indeed this does sound strange. Could you start Softsqueeze on the command
line (instructions on the website), and then when the CPU is showning 100%
press CTRL-\ in the command line window. This should output some debug
information, if you could send that to me off list I'll have a look and see
if I can spot the problem.

Thanks,
Richard
