We have been working hard to make VortexBox the best server for SqueezeBox. Now we are working to make it a player as well. Logitech makes the worlds greatest network attached music players. But many users want to use their own USB DACs and Audiophile (192kHz/24-bit) sound cards with their SqueezeBox Server as well.

We have built VortexBox Player just for this type of application. Now your VortexBox and be an end to end music solution.

This is a picture a 192kHz/24-bit Jazz recording recorded by Kent Poon playing on my VortexBox appliance. The VortexBox appliance has a built in 192kHz/24-bit DAC so only an amp and speakers are required.

There is information on how to install VortexBox Player on our user forum.

Would it be possible to release the source code of your Vortexbox Player as the program is GPL licenced? Then we can compile it also for other distributions.

No problem all of VortexBox is released under the GPL. The source RPMS including the VortexBox Player SRPM are here.

I would be interested in hearing from anybody who wants to help with development of VortexBox player or other parts of VortexBox. PM me if you are interested.

Free tracks at that resolution?

PAID tracks at that resolution?

(I'm sure they are much better.)
