Thanks everybody.
It was my fault. I re-read the manual for RC2000 MKII, and it specifically
advises NOT to program under fluorescent light or sun. Well, it was dark
and I used ONLY small desk light which was fluorescent :-)
Now SB responds to my remote as other AV components. Thanks anyway!

I've been using a URC-8911 One For All remote. It comes with a nice 6-pin
header inside, so you can hack together a cable to your PC and reprogramme
it
at will usign the cable and some software from the JP1 group on yahoo.
