Hi,

I have been enjoying SB for the past 10 days or so. And here comes a dumb
question, which I guess have been discussed here repeatedly.

I have a universal remote by Philips/Maranz and all my audio video equipment
are controlled by it. I programmed it with SB remote, but SB doesn't
respond at all. The remote DID seem to be accepting and recognized the SB
remote IR signal and display showed that programming was successful. I use
SONY DVD, Pioneer DVD, Panasonic VHS, TV, Cable box, DAC, Equalizer, etc.
and had no problem programming it. This is the first time to encounter this
problem.
It's no use asking why here, but what would you do to utilize your existing
universal remote, if you have one?

Thanks.

Ken

Is it a pronto type remote?

If so take a look at:

http://www.slimdevices.com/dev_plugins.html#integration

I have a couple of remote config files for the Squeezebox along with some
..ir files for slimserver to allow advanced remote features.

Rgds,
Bruce.

If this is a "Pronto" based remote, try varying the amount of time you hold
the buttons in for whilst learning the codes. I can remember having the same
issue when I did mine, but I can't remember if a short press or long press
cured it.

Failing that, there are a couple of slim .ccf files on the slimdevices
webpage somewhere.

I've been using a URC-8911 One For All remote. It comes with a nice 6-pin
header inside, so you can hack together a cable to your PC and reprogramme it
at will usign the cable and some software from the JP1 group on yahoo.

the config file for using the slimdevices codes is here:
