Hey All,

Hopefully someone can help... I have the following set up;

Linux box (oliver) running slimserver
Samba running and sharing /usr/local/mp3 as mp3
All my music is on /usr/local/mp3

Windows XP Pro (binkley) running iTunes
Mapping a drive (m) to \\binkley\mp3
iTunes users "m:\" as it's library.

This all works fine,

I tried manually moving the iTunes Music Library.xml file to /usr/local/mp3
When I scan for music the slimserver crashes

I tried mounting the iTunes folder on the XP box to the Linux box
Smbmount //oliver/itunes /usr/local/iTunes
And setting the parameter in the web interface to that path.
This too crashes slimserver when I hit scan.

I get the following when I run it from manually. I know the file lock looks
obvious but nothing else has that file open...

[root@oliver slimserver]# perl slimserver.pl --d_scan --d_itunes

double check your permissions on the xml file. the server runs automatically as
user slimserver, group slimserver so the xml will need to be readable by that
user, as well as the one you are using when you run the server manually.

Hi Guys,

I just installed the trial of MoodLogic and cannot seem to get it to
work, or access MoodLogic from my SlimServer or SliMP3's. I tried to
RTFM, but cannot find any mention of MoodLogic operation or integration
other than it works".

I have MoodLogic installed on my Slim Server PC. What do I do next?
How do the 2 work together? Is there some reference source or manual
somewhere that i am missing?

Sorry for the ?'s...

Mike

Mike,

If you go into the server settings there is a Moodlogic toggle.

Once it rescans your music you should stat seeing little a little M
next to various categories that indicate that it is Mixable.

Someone more knowledgeable may be able to tell you how the too work together.

After restarting the SlimServer, the MoodLogic Setting appeared in the
Server Settings. The 'm' is now appearing on my Slim's. How do I select
the moodlogic playlists from the Universal Sony or Slim Custom Remotes
at the slim? I think I am almost there...

press-and-hold-play on any item that shows the "M" icon in hte top right of the
player display. If it is a song, you will get the options for variety combo
(lower numver means greater variety), then press right to get your mix. If you
select an artist or genre, you will then be able to choose an item from the
moodwheel before you get to the variety combo.

look in the server settings, additional server settings for the moodlogic
settings options. These include a max # of song in the playlist and the
default variety combo.
