Peeps,

Could someone point me in the direction of iTunes / slimserver integration
docs... Or at least tell me if I'm on the right track...

I have a slimserver running on Linux with all the mp3's in /usr/local/mp3

That directory is exposed to windows via samba.

On my XP box, I want to install iTunes and point it to my "M:\" drive (which
is mapped to the mp3 share on my linux box)

I don't want to duplicate my mp3's on two different machines.

Am I making this thing harder then it needs to be?

Thanks for the help...

~chris

Look in the server settings->additional server settings->itunes.

for use with linux, you will likely need to have it set to manual, then type in
teh location of the itunes music library.xml file, and the path to your music
files. these will be the linux paths. You may have to have iTunes copy the
library file to somewhere accessible by the linux machine. If you copy the xml
file to the root of your music files (in your case /usr/local/mp3) then you cna
use the automatic settings.

When the server finds the itunes xml file, you will then see a setting in hte
main server settings page to Use iTunes.
