I started the log like you said but nothing is showing
up there. when you say turn off "blocking
alltogether" what exactly do you mean. Block by which
app? I don't think I have any app blocking (no
firewall or anti-virus, etc). The remote streaming
URL doesn't even work when I try it on the server with
slimserver on it but does work when I just use
"localhost" instead of the IP number.

What gives?

Dan

if you are using http://localhost:9000/Handheld, that woudl be a skin.
if you are looking for a remote stream, use http://localhost:9000/stream.mp3

blocking is a security feature. server settings->additional->security. if you
have IP blocking, the server might block access by your pda.

localhost would translate to 127.0.0.1 which means you are using the same
machine. If you are using locahost on the pda, and it works, that would
indicate you have slimserver running on your PDA. I'm a little lost as to what
you are trying to do. On one hand, sounds like you are trying to use the web
interface. On the other, it sounds like you want to stream audio to your pda.

Assuming that your PDA is not running SlimServer,
then you have something like Server IP 172.16.4.10
and PDA IP 172.14.4.40
you do not want to use localhost, you want to use
either the name, or the IP address of the server.

Same here.
