This may have been something I've missed, but does anyone know if it is
possible to group all of the Browse options under a main menu heading of
'Browse Music' a la 'Search Music' to cut down on the amount of items
appearing in the top-level menu on my Squeezeboxen?

Also, as a feature request, how about another variation to the Now
Playing progress bar which shows time elapsed or remaining for an entire
playlist rather than each individual track?

I was going to say no, but then I just noticed that there is in fact a section
of code to do juat that. Oddly, however, the server itself doe snot make use
of it anywhere. Should be an easy patch to add that to the list of home menu
options is server settings->additional->interface. Really strange; its just
sitting there like an appendix, doing nothing.

not quite as simple. The server currently does not compile the total time of a
given playlist. This would require a scan of each song in the playlist and
either cached, or cause a performance hit when a playlist is loaded. Then, you
have to deal with the case of skipping songs, fast forwarding and shuffling. It
woudl be nice, if there was an elegant way to make it happen. It is worth
filing that at http://bugs.slimdevices.com for tracking. Maybe when there is a
standard database holding the music information, this kind of feature will be
something far less complicated.
