Tonight I thought I would go ahead and install the new 7.4.2.

I cannot get past the following error message:

c:\program files\squeezebox\squeezetray.exe

An error occured while trying to copy a file:

The source file is corrupted

Click retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or abort to cancell the installation.

I tried to download the file again, I tried to reboot and al;l the other things I can think off but nothing works.

Other details that may be relevant are:

Windows XP SP3
Disc over 75% free
960 MB of ram.

I would appreciate any help as my system is now down.

RalphO,

Try uninstalling the application through ADD/Remove Programs.

Once uninstalled, reboot your PC.

Next Delete the following folders.

C:\Program Files\Squeezebox
C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter (if it exists)
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data(hidden folder)\Squeezebox
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data(hidden folder)\SqueezeCenter(if it exists)

Lastly, reinstall the updated software.

Thanks for trying to help. I did think of unisnstalling using add/delete programs but there were no entries for squeezecenter when I looked. I will try deleting the directories and reinstalling. I will let you know how I get on.

After many attempts to uninstall and reinstall I decided to go back to 7.3.3. At least now I can listen to music again. However, I now have a new issue. The scan only reports 517 albums of the 700+ that are in my library. I have tried clearing the library and rescanning but it always comes back with the same number.

Any ideas?
