Ok, that got me connected, thanks Richard.

I'm getting stuttering and almost no playback, but am able to browse via
Softsqueeze gui just fine. I've set the server to 96kbps. Do I need to
troubleshoot my network or do you have any ideas?

Dan

Dan,

What version of Softsqueeze are you using? The last version (pre-0.6.3)
has a bug that prevents the ssh tunnelling from working. Try an earlier
pre-0.6 release, or the last stable 0.5.2 release.

Regards,
Richard

Dan,

That's what I get from work as well. I think my broadband does not support
enough bandwidth on the uplink :(.

You could check that you get the same playback problems using putty to
tunnel the connection (forward ports 3483 and 9000). Otherwise you will need
to troubleshoot your network.

Regards,
Richard

I did not have "lame.exe" in my path, that is why I was getting the
stuttering.
Is there a way to minimize SoftSqueeze to the System Tray vs. the Task Bar?

Dan,

Thanks for the feedback.

I think I can add support for the System Tray in windows and in kde. What
options would you find useful in the menu from the system tray?

Regards,
Richard
