Best Buy has the radio this week on sale for $150. I'm surprised a new product like this is on sale already.

That is pretty amazing. I paid about $168 at BB by using a 12% coupon and cashing out one of my $10 vouchers. Looks like I still get a price adjustment. Shows backordered on the website though.

Amazon often matches Best Buy pricing so they might drop their price this week to match.

This also might be an early indicator that the entire Squeezebox line will be price reduced next year. I'd love to see a $199 Squeezebox Touch on store shelves next summer!

Best Buy gave me my price match. So, in the end I paid $139 + tax for the SB Radio. Well worth it!

Well, the local NotSoBestBuy showed they had two in stock, but couldn't lay their hands on either one tonight. Might give them another chance tomorrow; if not, then it's Amazon for me too...

That's a great deal regardless of the source!
$149 for the SB Radio + $49 battery (when available) gives you a great portable player for $200.
Grab them!! :)

I picked one up for $149 last night at the "Members Only Event" at my local Best Buy, which is the obvious marketing ploy you think it is. No abnormal sales or promotions that I could discern. But what really irked me was that Best Buy has buried the Squeezebox line. After searching the audio department, I finally broke down and asked an audio sales clerk where the Squeezebox stuff was. "It's in computers" was the response. Odd. Also wrong. The Slingbox line was in computers. Squeezebox was actually hidden in the far back corner of audio, with a shabby falling-apart display (only took my 20 minutes to find.) Meanwhile the ugly Sony "whole house music system" was promoted front and center.

Very discouraging to see a superior product line like Squeezebox given such poor placement. Makes me wonder if the Logitech - Best Buy relationship is strained. Or maybe Sony is putting up big $ to be prominently featured. Either way it's sad.

Incidentally, the Radio rocks. Was surprised by how small it is.

I was just getting ready to post this. I meant to last night. I saw it in My Sundays paper last night.
I too checked out my BestBuy before I ordered over phone from Crutchfield.
If I would have known it would have been this price I would have waited the two weeks.
Yeah Best Buy did NOT have any I could find. I know last year they said they had the Grace. But I wanted WIRED ethernet connection w wifi as an alternative. Most sales peopl shrugged.....Duh
Shame on them
But I want to buy two more. Im waiting so for the REMOTE..........
Thanks yall

This is really cool for a nice Christmas present.

Is there a 2 year warranty? I noticed that at logitech.com the warranty is 1year hardware only and some other products the warranty is accidentally not mentioned.

I just ordered one for $149 from Amazon with free shipping. Not bad.

However, I haven't seen anyone mention that only the black ones are on sale. The red version is still listed at $199.

I noticed that as well.

I ordered the black one yesterday (with free shipping), and it's being shipped today (arrival on Friday).

I already bought a red one (direct from slim apparently just before Logitech consumed their direct sales), but have one cow-orker who just ordered the black one from Amazon and another thinking about it.

Yes, my red radio sits on my desk at work and it made them jealous.

Wow. I had an amazon pre-order that didn't get shipped to me till October 15th. Less than one month later and it is $50 cheaper. I'm glad you all are getting such a good price and I just might pick up a second one. But are there any other early adopters out there that are feeling a little jipped?

Not really: I still think at $200, the radio is a steal: don't tell whoever sets prices that, though. At $149 it's a great deal.. if I had a decent excuse for buying another SB (I'm running out of rooms!), I'd pick up another radio.

If $149 is the new retail price they are going to sell a lot of units.

Thanks OP - just requested my partial refund from Amazon. In case anyoen doesn't know, Amazon will refund the amount of a price-drop for items purchased within the past 30 days.

I got my first Radio at the Amazon first day $179 price, and ordered my second Monday for $149, so I;m ahead of the game.

Just FYI, in case someone else wants to save 15 minutes (of which they can't get back!)

I called Logitech and they won't pricematch. So, I told them I'm just going to return the unit and get a new one at Amazon (and save on tax even).

I'm not passing judgment, just thought it was an odd policy since you can get a full refund on a return.

My $149 radio arrived from Amazon today. I was stunned! I only ordered the thing on Sunday and intentionally bypassed the default ~$8 shipping for the free option which was supposed to take 5 to 9 days. Guess the truck had a good tailwind....

Anyway, it arrived in perfect shape and only took a few minutes to get up and running. So far, it seems to work perfectly. The goal is to get rid of a larger CD/cassette boombox in the kitchen in order to have both more music and more shelf space available. Looks like it'll work out.

I always choose free shipping when available. I've never had the 5 to 9 day delay they claim. I think it's just a sales tactic. I ordered my radio on the 15th and it shipped the same day. Should be here on the 20th.

I was in a BestBuy a few weeks ago. They had 1 Radio and 1 Boom in the same aisle with iPod docks... but on the bottom shelf, with the ends of the boxes facing out instead of the box fronts. Pretty pitiful. I never would have found them if I didn't know what I was looking for.

I went to BB yesterday because a friend wanted to buy an SB but wasn't sure which one they had and which one to buy. I thought maybe they had a classic marked down.

I looked in computers (I remember it used to be by the speakers), home theater, MP3/audio, and could not find them. I finally found a sales associate who cared and he found them... in a stock area off just off the sales floor. They had 3 booms and 1 radio.

I told my friend to pre-order the Touch from Crutchfield. But from reading the Touch forums, I don't see it shipping before Christmas.

Companies pay for product placement.

It's evident that Logitech marketing is doing a terrible job of promoting and positioning the Squeeze line in BB stores.

Which is sad but true.

Many retailers supposedly make more money from placement contracts than from the actual products themselves.

IMHO, it's pretty shady business practices to run a retail shop like that.. it's basically payola for retail instead of radio. Unfortunately there is little or nothing you can do about it.

I can attest to the lack of product placement at Best Buy. I can find a Boom usually, with the various iPod docks. I don't know if they still carry Duets, never actually see them in the store. I had checked online, and it indicated the nearby Best Buy had Radios in stock. I first looked around the store - no luck. Asked the guy near the iPod docks (and the Boom display) where the Radio would be. He first showed me the Boom, and I told him "no, the Radio." He pointed me to the TV/Video area... apparently there had been one on display in that area, but no longer. Finally I got someone to look up on their computer - showed 2 in stock. He was able to find one in the stock room.

What the heck is Amazon up to? They dropped the black again but the red went back up to $197 (from $165). Darn it - I was getting ready to order a second one in red. The $15 spread for color I could live with; but $57 is hard to stomach!

I think I'll just wait now and see how this pricing thing rides out. Hopefully it won't all be back up to $200 in a few weeks!

Edit: Wait I spoke too soon. Looks like Crutchfield has the Red for $150 + $11 shipping (hate to bypass my Amazon Prime though) - so the spread is back down to $21. These price drops are great but some price stability would be reassuring :)

Maybe it's all Black Friday price matching stuff; I don't know. Last night Amazon was back up to around $176 on the black and $196 on the red.

Today they're both at $149. Pulled the trigger on the red. I hope this price point sticks past the holidays.

Just got mine from Crutchfield for $149 - a $20 of $100 coupon code, so $139 + $9 shipping...

Very happy, this thing is AWESOME. If anyone wants to order from Crutchfield and wants a $20 new customer coupon, let me know via PM. (U get $20 off and I get $20 referral credit..)

Retailmenot.com has tons of codes for many sites...

EDIT:
Well, looks like CF ran out and jacked the price back up! Guess I am just lucky...
