I have a variety of SB2, SB3 and a duet. Between every song change there is short burst of static and then the next song plays. Any thoughts?

What type of files are you playing? Which version of the server are you running and what is the operating system on the server?

I'm running AIFF files on a 6month old 2.93 iMac running OSX. The sever is 7.3.4

It's probably this bug:

which was marked a duplicate of:

If so, you need to upgrade to Squeezebox Server 7.4.2 for a fix.

Thanks for the help. I downloaded server 7.4.2 but that didn't help. Still have the burst of static between songs.

I have this same problem, only with aiff files. It is extremely annoying. Have you found a solution?

I was having the same issue.

I downloaded 7.4.2 (which I know you said did not help you) but I also did a software AND hardware reset and it seemed to correct the problem 99% of the time.

Now, instead of getting "static" between songs; I sometimes get little "pops". But, this might possibly be due to "dirty" MP3s that I downloaded 10+ years ago.

Also, I have set my player to fade out and fade in between songs. This has stopped all unwanted noises between songs 99.9% of the time. And, again, I no longer get the loud static. It is jsut a small pop once in a while. And, again I almost have to blame the MP3 because it does it on the same MP3 each time.

FYI

Originally, I set my player to crossfade between songs. This stopped the static and hissing when I was listening to Pandora or multiple songs in a playlist where the songs played one after the other.

But, this did not help when I would manually advance from one song to another. Hence, I tried the fade out and then fade in and as I said above, this new configuration has pretty much eliminated the issue.

I assume the fade out and fade in is working because it sets the volume to 0% at the beginning and end where the "pop" is occurring.

Hope this can help someone!
