I've got an OMPL file set up so I can access radio stations offered mirrored by my ISP. These are not accessible by anyone except for user of the ISP, so to have mysqueezebox.com work with these, I'd been told to add #slim:noscan=1 at the end of the URLs.

This has worked with my other squeezeboxes, but with the Squeezebox Radio I get an ICY 404 Resource not Found error with any URL followed by this. I presume this is because the Squeezebox Radio does its own processing when accessing internet radio stations, and likely doesn't understand this extra tag.

The URL of the opml is http://www.users.on.net/~tass/Internode.opml
and an example of a URL that previously worked is http://radio.internode.on.net:8108#slim:noscan=1

Is this something that will never work from the radio? Or is there the possiblity of a firmware fix?

So, it turns out that this problem is slightly different to what I originally thought.

When the Squeezebox radio is connected to mysqueezebox.com, these private URLs will not work unless the #slim:noscan=1 is present. When it's not there, the connection times out (because mysqueezebox.com is trying to connect first).

When connected to the local SBS, this #slim:noscan=1 causes the URL to not work at all - I suppose SBS doesn't like this tag.

This causes trouble with the 6 preset buttons. Since they are the same between mysqueezebox.com and SBS, I can't have them work consistently.

So - would it be possible that SBS be changed to strip #slim:noscan=1 from a URL before connecting, or otherwise have this extra tag not interfere with SBS?

Not a bad change idea at all: have you gone to http://bugs.slimdevices.com to submit it. It should be trivial to code (Perl -loves- string manipulation).

I've now logged it as https://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15053

I'd love to have this fixed... this device is so cool in every respect.
