Les,

I'm not able to download the plugin from SourceForge, Something
about a missing file.

SF are having grief with their file download area. Try a different
mirror -
http://aleron.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/slimlyrics/Lyrics.pm just
worked for me.

I haven't found a song it knows yet - apart from 'Yesterday' - how large is
the database?

Dunno - check out http://lyrc.com.ar/ and see if you can work it out. If
you know of an alternative on-line XML lyrics server, do let me know.

And another thing - the results depend on the quality of your tags, and
the quality of the tags on the Lyrics database. Common problems are:-
mixing of forward & back ticks `' (which got broken in 0.3, but will be
fixed); transpositions (The Beatles/Beatles, The), which should have
been fixed in 0.3 with the 'rough' match; and plain old typos.

One thing the server does do is return a list of suggestions if the
artist/title doesn't exactly match. Lyrics.pm currently treats this as a
miss. The next version will add a new mode that will allow you to select
one of the suggestions. Watch this space...
