I'm running simplify media on my mac mini to share my library outside of the house with friends, my netbook, and on my iphone.

The simplify server has an option to turn on a UPnp connection. If I did that, is there any whay for my Squeezeboxes to see the shared libraries?

It would be very cool to be able to browse my friends libraries from the SB rather than from the computer.

Thanks for the help.

As far as I can tell, squeezeboxserver will only scan one folder location.

No promises that the following would work and if it did, it would be an ugly hack:
djmount is a linux program that mounts a upnp share as a filesystem. You might be able to get it working on your mac with macFUSE.

In the WebUI, under settings > advanced > Network (pull down menu) there is an option to look for UPnP media servers. Don't know if it'll work, but worth a try. Let us know...

Go to Setting/Plugins and enable the uPnP client plugin (I think it's still there). You should see any detected servers come up on the left of the web interface.

Thanks -- will try both of these ideas and report back.

If a plugin exists that would work, forget my idea. It's too complicated.

It's not a plugin (my mistake) - look under Settings/Advanced/Network and you should see it there.

Curious if anyone got anywhere with this? I enabled UPnp on both, to no avail.

Thanks for any tips!
