View Full Version : radio problem with radio (rebuffering failed)
my radio don't like neil young.
the radio station "radio der von neil young getöteten http://www.drdvnyg.de/ selected via the menu "internet radio" is working without problems via my sb classic. if i use my sb radio to listen to this station i only hear the jingle. there after the message "rebuffering failed" and the jingle starts again. you can see the running buffering percentage to 6% then its starts again.
the radio is connected via wlan (75% signal) all other stations work without any dropouts. i tried to increase the buffer size on mysb.com but no results.

I thought the Radio was maybe scared by the station's name and feared to be killed by Neil Young.
Interesting. This sounds like exactly the same problem I have with another station. Can someone check if this stream plays on the Radio?

I currently don't have a "real" Squeezebox since the red Radio is still unavailable in Germany, so I am playing around a bit with the software players to get familiar with the system. The above stream plays fine on SoftSqueeze and SqueezeSlave, and also on other players like WinAmp, but I cannot get it to play on SqueezePlay. It only displays the stream title and then goes "Rebuffering ... 0% ... 1% ... 0% ... 1% ... 2% ... 0% ..." and so on.
Until now I blamed it on the fact that SqueezePlay is still Beta and assumed that the hardware players would be ok. But if those are affected, too, that would definitely ruin the Radio for me. This is about the only internet radio station I ever listen to, and I wanted the Radio specifically to be able to do so when I am not at the PC. :-(
usch, the funkturm stream shows the same behaviour on sb radio. no sound only rebuffers to 3-6% all over again...
Thanks for testing. Not good. :-(
But then I have been pondering for some time if I should get a new Radio or a used Boom for the same price, I guess that's an easy decision now.

I added note about that stream to the bug:

thanks tom,
for directing the problem to the right channels.

Thanks. In the meantime I've already bought a pre-owned Boom on eBay which shall hopefully arrive this week, but this will be of interest again when the Touch gets available.
This issue has been fixed in the 7.4.1 release which is just about ready for an official release.

Great, thank you. I can confirm that it works for me now with the latest build of SqueezePlay on WinXP.
I hate to say it, but there is still a problem, or it is back again. :(
The stream I mentioned above plays fine on Desktop Squeezeplay alone, it also plays fine on the Boom alone, but it doesn't play at all when both are synced (connected to local SBS, 7.5.0 - r30464).
Can anybody try if this works with a Radio or Touch synchronized to an IP3K player?

Touch - OK
Touch synced with boom - failure
Boom synced with classic - OK
Note both Boom and Touch are wired (No wifi) SB3 is wifi
*sigh*
Thanks for testing. I wonder if I should ask to reopen Bug 14795 (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14795) or open a new one.
