and it seems to work well when it comes to results.

Actually, I found that quite moving.
and it seems to work well when it comes to results.

Mostly this means the owners of the forum have a modicum of responsibility.
This means that entries are moved to appropriate sub-areas.
"Hands off" would be fine if there were a phone-service available that solved problems. Of course I see very few recommendations (other than "It's obviously broken") that make that recommendation.
Most of the questions here could be well sorted into categories other than the setup we have and automated collection is already happening. What's wrong with a "send configuration" with message option?
It would be great to use this place to share how we share our music.

I'm still confused. I'll get my coat.
? this years most confusing post ?
I don't get a thing
I think he means that sometimes forum admins will move posts to the more appropriate forum based on the subject matter and issue.
So when properly categorized people are more likely to find answers to their related issues.
I think it all just adds to the fun of our current state of confusion with SS/SC/SBS/SN/MySB/TinySC/Apps..... :)
To help categorize thread/entries - users can add tags to posts. I think it is better than moving threads.
But mods don't move enough of them the whole duet forum is filled with sc/sbs questions ? they should be moved instantly and not allowed to fester in the wrong forum and the "moved" link linger to long.
Btw pski made this post to ?

This is about the categories and headings on the web site. If you change terminology, the web site should reflect it. How are new users going to understand where to post their questions when the areas in the forum do not reflect the substance of their questions? Is it SqueezeBox Server or ain't it?
P
Ok maybe a "server software" forum, they don't stick to their naming scheme for a very long time these days ?
These name changes has also made the wiki even more incomprehensible, nobody is going to find anything there, this is a bigger problem i think .
Coupled with the changes of functionality in the user interfaces and server.
All slim/squeeze documentation is outdated, there is no valid manuals for any product now, this is a *really* big problem .
I agree that the forum names should be changed as appropriate, I also happen to think there should be a Classic/SB3 forum, and somewhere to discuss 3rd party software other than plugins (e.g. iPeng). Alas, I don't have powers to enact such a change. I (and collectively "we" as mods) do however spend a lot of time moving threads around to try and bring some sense of order. Apologies if we miss some, this is a very busy place!
