Hi there

I'm looking to transfer a highly configured 7.3 system to a 7.4 system on slimnas and I am not sure how best to do it?

Is there a how to somewhere to migrate 7.3 to 7.4 when you are not on mac or windows?

Thanks

Just copy the server.prefs file from etc/squeezecenter to etc/squeezebox of the new installation. Make sure file paths in there point to the new folders too.

Thanks for the quick response.

Is that one file really the only thing I need? ok.

I'm used to linux and understand /etc normally holds the configs, but would have thought I'd need to copy all of /etc, rather than one file.

Anyway, I know you are informed, so shall give that a try, thanks! :)

OK my server.pref file is in the /prefs directory on my Synology Diskstation

I assume I only copy that to /etc/on slimnas...

The plugin prefs are in that directory too; would it hurt taking those across too?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, forgot about them. Copy them 1:1. Then make sure there are no file paths in there which point to some old locations.
