I have downloaded Version 7.4
About half of the albums on my music file will not now play
They are listed on my handset Duet but when I ask them to play I get the title and starting to play legend then a no artist no album message and no music . Tries to play for 30 second then resets to try and play again.

With squeeze center I had no problems and could access any file in the music folder on my computer.
Am I doing anything wrong or is this a bug.
Can I revert back to squeeze center

.m4a or aac files?

There's a bug in the convert.conf file that's (hopefully) being worked on...
or you can fix it yourself temporarily.

There is an (as yet) undiagnosed issue with some wav files... not sure about FLAC ( I have 30k flac files and they all play fine...)

Thought so... WAV tags are no longer handled properly for some reason.
Good time to change to FLAC IMO.

Ianmac, do you have non-Latin characters in the file path for those files which can't play?

My Filenames follow
D:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Music\Mahler No 2

most of my music is Wav so very sick with this new software so called upgrade.

I'm sure it will get resolved. On the other hand, why not change to FLAC and enjoy much better tagging, less disk space and network bendwidth plus high res formats that WAV cannot support in any standard way?

I am also having problem playing WAV files. I am considering converting the WAV to FLACC but that'll take some time. I have way too many files. Is there a tool anyone would recommend to do bulk conversion? I need one that is friendly enough. In the meantime, I am hoping the 7.4 version fixes WAV. This is a pretty bad bug considering WAV is a pretty standard format.

Somehow the software wasn't able to open the file. Strange.
