As Squeezebox Touchs internal name seems to be 'fab4' - how is this name to be interpreted ?

As easy as
(1) its a receiver and (2) a controller, but no Duett, because its also (3) a SB-Server with (4) a Touch display ?
= Fabulous four = fab4?

Or do you have real good story, that you always wanted to tell when your children sit at the campfire deep in the night ?

Now is the time !
(It's night currently in Germany and I put a candle on)

Fabrication #4, ie it's sort of an SB4....

But it's also a damned good pun.

I was not there, I don't work there, etc.but it seems clear that the SB4
is a fab4

And there were interim releases named John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Nothing too exciting:

1. Fourth-generation Squeezebox, replacing the Squeezebox 3 (aka
Squeezebox Classic)
2. The "Fab Four" was a nickname for the Beatles.

Coincidentally, the code name for the i.MX35 CPU in Fab4 was "Ringo",
which was a nice bit of fate.

What about "squeezebox" itself? Does that come from the song by The Who?

We should work a bit on this beatles stuff, to make our children like the story !

Did anyone notice that something spooky happens when you name your Touch 'Paul is dead' and start playing 'Yellow Submarine' ?

It's a slang term for a musical instrument (the accordion), among
other things. :)

Plus it has "box" at the end, which is nice for a piece of equipment.
Plus it made me smile.

Funny you should bring this topic up. When I play Revolution No. 9 on my squeeezbox, I hear "Turn me on Dead Man". When I play the CD, it says "Number Nine". Is there something wronge with my setup? I think it might be playing it backwards? But why only this song? Very strange...

Maybe I should submit a bug ;-).

BTW, I always found the "Paul is Dead" phenomenom fascinating. I read a book on the topic and have a bootleg of the radio broadcast where the whole frenzy began. It's amazing what a large group of dedicated fans can convince themselves of and to what ends they will go to find "clues". Some of it is downright spooky. It must have been rather entertaining for the Beatles to see what their fans were capable of.
