View Full Version : 5.2. Squeezebox reboots now and again

I installed 5.2 as soon as it came out.
Since them my Squeezebox has rebooted itself (instant black screen, with
audible click and then have to go through network set up) four times (not
too tragic, but has never happened previously). This, while I was using the
remote.

try running the server with d_slimproto checked in the server settings ->
additional serer settings -> debugging, and see what is in the log when a reboot
occurs. you can also use the commandline:

lin/osx:
slimserver.pl --d_slimproto --logfile reboot.log

win:
"c:\program files\slimserver\server\slim.exe --d_slimproto --logfile
c:\slim-reboot.log"

Simon, and anyone else seeing odd reboots, or reboots triggered by IR
activity from other remotes: please try the new firmware (#29) which
will be in the nightly build after tonight (or in CVS now).

I found that I could occasionally trigger crashes by pulsing the IR
input very slowly... disabling raw IR (a feature we're not using yet)
fixes the problem. Please let us know - we probably want to ship a
5.2.1 revision with this ASAP.

Thanks,
Sean

Is this also supposed to fix the JVC IR code first use bug?

I'm looking at that separately - needed to get this out quick.
