I just ordered my Ethernet Disk and will be here
tomorrow....

Are you trying to install the slimServer ON the
ethernet disk itself?? LaCie uses an embedded version
of XP that is "protected", therefore you are not able
to install apps, drivers, etc.

My plan was to use the 500Gb ethernet disk (with an
800GB external Micronet FireWire RAID connected to it)
as a central volume of media (movies, music etc) and
share the volumes as such to the network. I plan on
running slimserver from a separate client on the
network. The music folder will be a separate volume
shared from the LaCie NAS. If this is what you are
currently doing, please post your success/failure, as
I am about to try the same.

If memory serves...Dean has said this little device will work, but needs a
firmware update.

I've connected keyboard/monitor directly to the ethernet disk

The share with the music seems to work. But I also want the SlimServer
to run on the ethernet disk.

btw. the ethernet disk is running version 1.3 from May 27. Dean
mentioned in april a fix for the ethernet disk that is required for
getting the SlimServer to run (http://tinyurl.com/2oolg). Does anybody
know if this fix is incorporated in this version?

Thanks
Pascal

I've already updated to version 1.3 (May 27?). Is this fix included in
this update? Or does anybody know from where else I can get it?

Thanks
