View Full Version : Synchronization works nicely with the Radio
Just FYI, we had a group of 7 Radio's set up for synchronization, and the sync worked quite nicely.
A little ragged at first 'play', but quickly snapped into sync.
Very nice!
Since this is such a new platform, I'm pleased to see advanced features work so well.
Check out a little video of the 7 babies here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz1IYIdzb1c.

Looking good. Now lets see that with a non-SqueezeOS device in the mix as well ;)

All being served by a Touch :D
hah, that's pretty awesome.
I take it the software player in the radio is doing some time-slew to get them in sync?

This is great news! Baby just keeps getting better every day. Congrats to everybody and to you Caleb.
Looking forward to the next firmware update and hoping Santa sends me a battery for Christmas.

Hey, I think the sync work is all Alan. I didn't have a thing to do with that :-)
Actually, Alan mentioned that the out-of-sync at the beginning is because I unpaused, instead of starting fresh. When you start with a new track, they start in sync. I should update the video.
We have a great team here -- we've all worked really hard to get these products ready (and we still are...)

Well this will answer the question "Why mono?"
Answer: "They are not mono.....if you buy TWO and Sync them!" :)

We were just talking about that! It would be relatively simple to implement -- it would be interesting to see how it behaves :-)

I have to say, that would be freaking awesome if it was implemented! :)
Mono, Left channel or right channel selections.
I don't think you will need anything more user-friendly than that
until the stereo bundles hits the stores :)
I'll wait until the 7.1 bundle arrives since I just bought another Boom...
That sounds like "Pan". :)

Or, "Balance", rather.
Both would be useful, I'd say.

Oh boy, I want to see Caleb and the boys eyes when you tell them that
they have to implement the proper 3dB rolloff curve to reflect the gain
you see when both are working together, and the proper proportion as the
pan knob is swept from side to side.

Do tell! What is the right rolloff curve. Sounds like fun ;-)

The curve towards the "-3db in the middle" would depend on the device, I would think, but the value of -3db when panned in the center is a constant...I would think...
Please don't feed me to the wolves if I'm mistaken....
I'm nervous about clicking "submit reply"....LOL

Ah, is this just a gain thing? The idea's to keep the total energy the same when you pan left-center-right. That's simple. I thought there was some psychoacoustic effect of having 2 speakers where you'd want to add some bass or something.
Keeping total energy constant is trivial. End up at +3dB at each extreme, and 0dB in the middle.

a very little question:
What is the artist - song that plays in the video?
