Hi,

I cant find any skins that makes the squeezecenter web interface look nice. Im planning to buy an Asus eee Top to have on the wall as a touch screen dislpay. The ipeng giu looks great, but can I use that on a laptop?

Or will the squeezecenter gui be updated soon?

No.

Oh, those were the days... where the community contributed their own skins
:-). We plan to do a refresh, but rather next year than sooner. And there
are no plans yet as how it would look.

But if you have some HTML/CSS/JS skills, I'd be happy to help you come up
with your own skin. It would be great to see what a nice looking web UI
would be like.

Is Moose still an option? You might look into that.

Yeap, Moose is still around. I use Moose on a HP TouchSmart Tx2 Notebook. I fold the TX2 screen into tablet (landscape) mode then I go to Moose Tools->View Mode and select Touch Screen. It works great, but it's not perfect.

Moose and Squeezeplay are two options. But personally, I think the web UI is great (appearance wise).

Nice? Maybe you should define the term.

The improvements I could suggest to "default" are:

1. when displaying "artists," allow pressing the corresponding key to take you to the result as clicking the letter in the web interface.

2. when an artist is selected that only has a single album, allow an option that displays it without another click.

How hard is it to change the html and graphics? Can I find documentation on that? I would be pretty satisfied just to keep the present layout and update the graphics to look more like ipeng/spotify.

Im pretty satisfied with the functionality, but the design doesnt look 2009. A really good deisgn would make a touch wall mounted PC an alternative to the squeezebox touch.

Yes, my thoughts exactly! The web UI should be updated to be in line with what we have seen about the upcoming Touch, and the new look of the Controller interface.

Depends on what you want to do. Replacing a few colors and images is easy
(if you know CSS a bit). If you want to re-arrange the layout, then it's
getting more involved.

That should be easy: get firefox, install firebug. Look at every element
you'd like to replace. Then replace the corresponding file (most likely in
HTML/EN/html/images or HTML/Default/html/images) with your version.

If you want to keep the original skin, building your own, you might create
a sub-folder to HTML with your skin, then make it inherit everything from
default by adding a skinconfig.yml file with the following content:

skinparents:
- Default
preprocess:
- cmdwrappers_Default

Best look at how Touch is based on Nokia770

Now that's a good idea :-). I'm pretty sure whatever our designer comes up
with will be in line with some of our recent develpment. But first we have
to get Radio and Touch out. That's our highest priority right now.

Btw: what became of SqueezeJS

It's still the base for Default skin and the new mysb.com web remote
control. Why are you asking?

Because you did not mention it. Wouldn't that be the way to go for a comprehensive customization on a desktop system?

Yes, for _comprehensive_ changes. But there was talk about exchanging some
graphics only.
