I have been updating my slimserver software from the friday nightlys. I am
using a wireless lan and running from win2k.
All has been fine for a number of months. After installing 2004-06-18
(firmware 25/server 5.16), the Squeezebox firmware required updating.
Pressing the brightness button started the upgrade, and the progress bar
on the Squeezebox ran to the end and seemed to complete as normal. I can't
remember exactly what order the display were in, but using the right key on
the remote I started moving through the IP address or encryption key when
the display locked up, with the top left character of the display
dissappearing. The remote no longer responded. After a while I turned the
power off then on. The display has remained blank with no signs of life ever
since, and the server software says it can't find the Squeezebox.
Is there any way to get the hardware running again?

Chris.

Chris,

Only two things to try at this point - if we can't get the display to
come on at all then it'll need to come in for service.

1) try holding down the "Add" button on the remote while inserting the
power connector. This will reset the network settings and may bump it
out of a bad state.

2) try popping out the wireless card and see if it boots.
