My PCs are running under WinXP SP2 (always up to date), the slimserver
software is the newest one (5.15) and the slimp3 player was shipped with
Firmware V2.2. During my tests I've successfully updated on V2.3 but with no
effect to the problems.

For testing my firewalls are completely down and set I my router to forward
the important ports ( 9000, 9090, 3483 ). I wonder if portforwarding is only
useful for internetconnections, isn't it ?

Hi Oliver,

First, I recommend you upgrade to the latest nightly release:

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest

This is the most stable version of SlimServer to date and has a lot of
bugs fixed that were in 5.1.5.

I don't know the exact setup for your network, but if the computer and
the SLIMP3 are on the same side of the firewall, then the port
forwarding shouldn't make a difference. And if the display is working,
then there is connectivity between the two devices.

It may be that you are having a hardware problem. Try updating the
software I mentioned above and if that doesn't work, contact
support (AT) slimdevices (DOT) com...
