Just like to say thanks for the quick repsonse. Using the remove PCMCIA card technique I have now updated to v25 and everything is sounding sweet.

Squeezebox Firmware version 25 fixed a bug that caused a small number
of players that upgraded to version 20-24 to not be able to be upgraded
again. (We know of about 5 players now). The bug had to do with
memory timing and one way to work around it is to temporarily remove
the wireless card. After this, the new firmware has the proper
settings to prevent this from happening in the future.

If anyone is having trouble upgrading their firmware to 25, please
contact support (AT) slimdevices (DOT) com and we'll either walk you through
opening the case or swap your player.
