Hi,

Thanks for looking into that - it's a real help to me. The non-reset of the
character set also happens on the left-arrow, not just when moving to the
right. I think this would need a separate fix looking at the proposed code
change.

Whilst I'm on the topic of text input, it would also seem sensible to me if
when you use the left arrow, that it deletes the letter under the cursor.
Another example:

If I've entered BEACTBOY, but then I decide I really wanted to say
'BEACHBOY', I'd left arrow until the cursor was over the T. My next
keypresses would replace that T with another character. To me it would be
more intuitive if the T were to vanish and the cursor would be over blank
space - as it does when it moves forwards.

It would make it easier to edit the text from a distance .. the letters it
shows on the screen are the letters it's keeping. Much as I hate to say it,
this is also the 'Nokia way' :)

Hope that makes sense to someone ...

Thanks again,
Chris.

p.s. I know I'm really screwing the threads up with my replies .. how does
the list server determine what this message is a reply to? I receive my
list as a digest, so it's hard to reply to an individual message - and it's
clear I'm doing something wrong (sorry!)

I find the best way to deal with mailing lists is to receive the
full lists, not digests, and filter them all into different folders.
Works best with procmail on the server but is also fine with a
client. This way you get better organization, threading, replies,
etc.

I find viewing this group as a news group through the news.gmane.org server
is ideal. Your news reader will thread everything appropriately and it's
obvious what messages you're replying to.
