View Full Version : Choosing ShoutCast on Squeezebox causes connection loss

Hi Dean

Here is the setup I have. I have an NTL 1Meg Cable connected through a
Terayon Cable Modem to a Dlink D713 Wireless Router. 1 Desktop PC (3.2Ghz, 1
Meg Ram, 240 Gb Raid) hard wired Ethernet, and a Toshiba Tecra Laptop
(wireless). I've just rebuilt the laptop so everything on that is "new". I
just upgraded to Zone Alarm Pro Security Suite on both machines; could it
have been a firewall problem perhaps? I have racked my brain trying to
figure it out for the last 2 hours but I just can't see what's going on
here! Checked out the laptop first then when that was sorted went and did
the same on the desktop. The desktop has been connected to shoutcast now for
2 hours without a hiccup. Anyway, its after midnight now and I gotta be up
early so I'll leave you to think about it and I'll catch up with you
tomorrow.

Cheers
Roger

Roger,

That is baffling. What kind of Internet connection do you have?

Roger,

It very well could have been your firewall preventing SlimServer from
connecting to Shoutcast. If it happens again, let us know.

Thanks,

dean
