Browsing through outstanding bugs today, I noticed that Bill requested info on an mp3 tag editor that supports TPOS on Bug 368.

I use a program called ID3-TagIT (http://www.id3-tagit.de/) for Windows. I'm currently using v.3.1.0. It requires MS.NET framework 1.1.

When editing V2 tags, there is a control to set the position in media set and total number of media in the set.

It's the best mp3 tagger that I have ever used. It's freeware and is frequently updated. I just noticed in fact that there's a new version (3.1.4) which I am downloading now.

I didn't have a chance to look at the Bugzilla, but on linux id3v2
will let you set TPOS frames. But it's not a very glitzy interface!
You just do

id3v2 --TPOS "1/3" *.mp3

for example! I have successfully used it, though, to assemble single
"albums" out of a number of the Opera CDs I own.

Cheers,
