Hi,

I use multible artists seperated by ";" and it works perfectly, but I can't get multiple album tagging to work.

If I tag a file with "album1;album2" in the album field one entry is created with "album1;album2" as album name, not two entrys with "album1" and "album2" as I would expect.

btw: Would it be possible to use Multiple Items in the Track-no corresponding to the Multiple album tagging ? ("album1;album2" in the album field and "07;04" in the track-no filed) That way you could have one file as track 7 on album1 and as track 4 on album2.

Thanks in advance for your help.

currently, the multiple tagging feature only supports Artist, Genre, and the few
items that slimserver handles as alternate artists: band, composer.

I don't believe the id3 spec covers multiple album tagging or multiple track
tagging. As such, it might not be very good for slimserver to starte demanding
tags that will break the songs for other systems.

Hi,

I did not know that it was at standard id3-thing to support multiple artists
seperated by ";" or some other character. I thought that this was a
SlimServer specialty ?

Anyway, the help for the "Multible Items In Tags" field is a bit misleading
if albums is not supported :-)

SlimServer can extract multiple artist, album titles and genres from the
tags inside your music files. If SlimServer finds any of the characters
below in your tags, it will create individual listings for each item.

The functions are there to do the splitting, so it is likely an easy patch if
someone wants to submit it. currently, slimserver is closed to enhancements
through the release of 5.2. if it is filed as a report in bugs.slimdevices.com,
it will be looked at by Vidur and could be included, or marked for addition
after 5.2.
