Hello,

FYI Radio Free Colorado .radiofreecolorado.net is back online and streaming live Classic and Modern Rock at 192 kbps MP3.

The .pls file is: .radiofreecolorado.net/playlist_files/RFC_playlist_192.pls

The SHOUTcast server URL is: .sc10.24server.com:30726 The operator of Radio Free Colorado is (or was?) in the Army. Apparently now returned from duty in Iraq he has the station up and running again.

I am relieved, as there are very, very few Rock & Roll stations streaming above 128 kbps. The music library of Radio Free Colorado is very large so you won't hear the same songs over and over again.

I have the Digital output of my Audigy soundcard hooked into my Sony 5.1 channel Hi-fi and WOW you can really hear a fidelity difference listening to RFC.

Add www in front of the URL's I posted since this is my first post here.

So tune in and give a listen.

Mike

Hi,

You are very welcome.

The complete URL for the RFC website is: http://www.radiofreecolorado.net

The complete .pls playlist file URL is: http://www.radiofreecolorado.net/playlist_files/RFC_playlist_192.pls

The URL of the RFC Shoutcast server is: http://sc10.24server.com:30726

Now that this is my second post here the complete URL's should show up. :)

Mike

The link seems to be the same as Radio Paradise - or rather, by some weird coincidence the 2 stations appear to be playing exactly the same tracks (that's 3 in a row so far).

In which case this is a higher quality stream to listen to http://www.radioparadise.com/musiclinks/rp_128aac-1.m3u , provided that you use SC 7.3.3 or use the appropriate plugins and what have you on earlier versions of SC.

There is something weird going on here - the RFC site playlist is completely different to what I'm hearing.

Is there some territorially locked ISP thing going on ?

I'll have a further play and report back my findings.

Chris :)

They are each streaming different artists and songs for me.
I know there is some glitch in SC where if you are playing stream A then switch to stream B, stream B has an issue (won't play), so SC goes back to playing stream A but still shows stream B station on the SB display. So your SB screen might say it's playing Colorado when it's actually playing Paradise, thus you would think each stream is playing the same song.
I've run into this a number of times.

I think you are confused Chris, there is no association between Radio Paradise and Radio Free Colorado, they are two different stations with very different music formats.

Everything is working OK for me, perhaps there is some kind of issue on your end? I can't say.

That's a bit personal isn't it ? :D
I've had worse levelled at me. :D :D

There is some kind of issue at this end - I'm going to have a play and do some URL sniffing, see if that gets around the problem.

You are located in the USA - there may be some territory/ISP issue at hand. We have similar issues with the BBC only allowing higher bitrate streams to UK destinations.

I didn't mean to offend, I suppose I could have said that differently. :(

Sorry.

I am in the USA and I have no issues receiving the Shoutcast server from Radio Free Colorado.

There is an alternate URL for the Shoutcast server you can try:

http://deb5030.24server.net:30726

Try that. :)

Don't worry Mike - no offence taken. You did lay yourself wide open to misinterpretation or misquotation though :)

It's a shame that this site does not have emoticons attached to it, they are good to insert where words fail.

I found that the WinAmp stream is flash player, so no use.
The Windows Media stream gave me this as a URL http://www.radiofreecolorado.net/playlist_files/RFC_playlist_192.asx ,and RFC is now coming through my SB3 loud and clear, so possibly this will satisfy other UK users.

Thanks for your help.

For some strange reason the URL gets truncated, so here's one without the http://www thing at the front .radiofreecolorado.net/playlist_files/RFC_playlist_192.asx

Cut & paste as required
