View Full Version : Server upgrade => JVC IR codes not working

Hi Hugh,

I'm using 3rd June Nightly and I don't have any problem with using either
remote. I use the new remote in most rooms and I don't actually use the old
Sony remotes myself anymore but I did use them to teach my Pronto the codes.
This was done before the new remote was released so it'll be on the old JVC
codes.

Not sure if this helps but a nightly might be worth testing.

I've not gone into debug before but I'd have thought that d_ir would be most
likely.

BTW: I'm using a Linux platform.

Cheers,

James

Hi James,

thanks for that, but I'd already tried it and it doesn't make any
difference.
I double-checked after your mail, though, trying all 4 combinations of
"Slim_Default_Remote" (or whatever it's called) and "jvc_dvd", with no luck.
If I move back to server 3.0 on the same PC, both remotes immediately start
working again; back to 5.1.5 and they stop working again.

The "original remote" I'm talking about is the Sony RM-V201 which came with
my
SliMP3. My own programmable one is a Sony RM-AV2000T.

Are there any "d_" debugging flags I should enable to help diagnose this?

Cheers
Hugh

I tried the latest nightly (2004-06-06) and it makes no difference.

I tried starting the slimserver with --d_server and --d_ir, and this is all I
got:

------------------------------------------------------------------------

2004-06-06 11:16:34.8222 SlimServer saving pid file.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

No messages when I press buttons on the remote. Running the 3.0 slimp3 server
with the same options gets be a similar bunch of startup messages, plus a few
lines like this each time I press a key on the remote:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
using ir file: jvc_dvd
irCode = [right] timer = [9360658] timediff =
[clientState=ARRAY(0x831671c)->irtimediff] last = [] numrep = [0]
irmintime: [60000]
irCode: right, 192.168.1.128:69
executing button: right
irCode: [69 00 00 8f 43 d7 ff 10 00 00 f7 cb ]
------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, to someone who really doesn't know the source code, it looks like IR codes
aren't getting (very far) into Hardware/IR.pm, since that file is peppered
with "$::d_ir && msg(...)" calls.

Anyway, back to my network woes for now ... :-)

Cheers,
Hugh
