Hello. I am using a SB Duet, streaming Apple Lossless files wirelessly. When a song is playing and I click the "more info" button on the controller, however, it tells me that the file type is "AAC or movie file." It also tells me that the kpbs has been converted to 705.6.

I want to make sure that I am streaming with as much fidelity as possible. Is there some setting I must change to make sure I am streaming ALAC files, and at maximum resolution? Or am I already doing that?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

That's telling you about the file, not the stream. "AAC or movie file" is the generic name in SC for all AAC/ALAC/mp4 etc files, and that bitrate sounds about right for a lossless file (about 50% of uncompressed which is 1411kbps).

In reality however, the data is being transcoded to FLAC as your SBR can't play ALAC itself, but it's all lossless so don't worry about it.

That all makes sense. Thanks for the explanation, Radish.
