Dean - If I unplug the Squeezebox and then re-plug it in all that happens is
I get the same message as in my previous posts. I doesn't seem to reset or
re-start OR it doesn't have a bootstrap. I've disabled the firewall on my PC
but it makes no difference. I'll have to phone them after the weekend. I'm
almost convinced that I am going to have to return it to the dealer. Thanks
for all your suggestions.

Ah, Roger, I see. Thanks.

This message shown immediately on power-up indicates that the
Squeezebox firmware has gotten corrupted somehow and has entered the
"failsafe" firmware update mode.

This mode has a fixed IP address of 192.168.1.50.

You'll need to temporarily change your computer's IP address to
something in the same range, for example 192.168.1.51. Then use the
manual firmware update page:

http://localhost:9000/firmware.html

and enter 192.168.1.50, then click on the button.

If this doesn't do it, contact support (AT) slimdevices (DOT) com and Kevin will
try to walk you through it and if all else fails, set you up with an
RMA.

Sorry for the trouble,

dean
