Definitely install the latest nightly, it fixes problems similar to those
you describe.

Subject: [slim] SlimServer Startup Error

I'm using the bundled version that was live yesterday. SlimServer 5.1.5. I'm
going to try to reinstall Windows and the server again today with both the
5.1.5 release an also the latest CVS release and see if i have any luck
either way.
I'm trying to think if there's any more info that might be helpful. I've
tried it with Win Sever 2003 and it did actually run but the service would
intermittantly stop giving an unknown event error. That's when I went to XP.
It's WinXP SP1. I've tried it without all the patches and WITH all the
patches with the same result.

I've googled around and there are a few other people having this same error
but in different places...
