View Full Version : SHOUTCAST problem - terminates my SlimServer

Hello

I have SlimServer version 5.1.5 running on XP Pro.

When I use the (new) SHOUTCAST option in the menu on the Squeezebox and
select a station it plays fine. If I select another station from the
SHOUTCAST menu and hit play, after a pause I get the message "There was a
problem connecting to the server - check the software is running". When I
check my dedicated server - I find that the "slimsvc.exe" (sometimes it is
called "slim.exe" depending if it is started manually or at boot up) is no
longer in the task list - somehow it self terminated.

This is a consistent fault. It does not seem to matter if I pause or stop
the stream between selecting stations. If I restart the SlimServer service
on my sever (either by reboot or manually), the station I had selected is
shown on the Squeezebox and if I hit play it connects and plays fine.

Turning the Squeezebox on/off between choosing SHOUTCAST stations has no
effect.

I think this is a bug as it is consistent? Any ideas?

Nick

Hi Nick,

This bug has been reported before and has been fixed in the latest
nightly release:

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/

Try updating to this and the problem should go away. Let us know if
you have any other problems.
