This is what works for me:

1). Download the nightly zip file and unzip it to make sure you have a good
download.
2). Do not uninstall 5.1.5. I never did and my setup works perfectly.
3). Assuming that you installed Slimserver as a "Service", from a command
prompt, execute this command: net stop slimsvc and wait for the service to
stop.
4). Open windows explorer and navigate to the C:\Program Files\SlimServer
folder and delete all the files and subdirectories therein, but don't delete
the SlimServer folder. Alternately, you can rename the C:\Program
Files\SlimServer to C:\Program Files\SlimServer.org or something and create
a new SlimServer folder under Program Files.
5). Edit the registry: Start->Run->Regedit.exe; navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\slimsvc and make sure
the entry for the "ImagePath" key is "C:\Program
Files\SlimServer\server\slim.exe" (the service executable has changed for
this version.)
6). Move all the unzipped files from the nightly build to the C:\Program
Files\SlimServer folder.
7). Make any custom edits to C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server\convert.conf
you need to (e.g. enable the alternate FLAC commands to support cuesheets.)
8). From a command prompt again, execute the command "Net start slimsvc" and
wait for the service to start.
9). Fire up the web interface at http://127.0.0.1:9000/ go through the
server and squeezebox setup pages. Once you set your music folder and
perform a rescan, you should be good to go.
