View Full Version : Need Help moving to Nightly Build on WinXP Pro

I am planning on moving to a nightly build because I have been advised that
there is a memory leak in the 5.1.5 version that causes my machine to freeze
up while scanning my large collection...

I have attempted this migration once before without luck...

My goal is to install the nightly as a "Fresh" install after I totally
uninstall 5.1.5...

Can someone advise me on how to COMPLETELY remove ALL of SlimServer so that
the new install will not detect any previous settings? Where are the prefs
stored? In a registry? Somewhere else???

I would also really appreciate any other tips and tricks that might not be
in the documentation... Is there a particular nightly build that would be
advised...

Thanks in advance!

Hugh

You can install the latest nightly release by downloading the .exe file
from this place on the web site:

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest

That should be a full installer and will replace your existing
installation with the most up-to-date version of the SlimServer.

If you do install the latest nightly, please feel free to post to the
list any issues you see (small or large) with it so we can fix them
before the 5.2 release goes out.

Thanks,

dean
