View Full Version : Separate stream.mp3 from Admin

I've been looking at separating the stream.mp3 stream from the HTTP
admin service. The idea being that I can hide the admin service behind
an SSL Apache proxy, and expose (only) the stream to the network
(possibly with basic auth). Proxying the stream isn't a good idea
because Slimserver can't differentiate between connected clients if you
do that.

I've had a look at the source code, but am looking for some pointers on
how best to tackle this. The source isn't particularly well commented,
and I'm getting tied up in knots trying to figure out how it all fits
together. Can anyone help me?

Anyone else tried this or another solution?

This would be great as a standard feature within SqueezeCentre. A simpler approach could also be to use to separate ports for streaming/admin with separate security settings. Although the clear text username/password currently used is hardly that secure anyway, so a stronger ssl based solution makes more sense.
