A typo on the web page, try:

java -Dserver=127.0.0.1 -Dserverversion=5.1.6 -Dskins=headless -jar
SoftSqueeze.jar

Note you now need serverversion (not firmware) and skins is plural.

Richard

First, thank you Richard for such a great little application.

I was pretty excited about being able to use SoftSqueeze in a "headless"
mode.

But, I am a little unsure what headless is after trying it. I was thinking
that by using the headless "skin" from the command line, I would be able to
start SoftSqueeze on the target machine but without a visible SoftSqueeze
interface.

My idea was that once I had SoftSqueeze running "invisibly", I would use a
Web interface to control the player and output on that computer.

Is this what you intended by headless ?

When I start SoftSqueeze from the command line using the Dskin=headless
switch, I still get a SoftSqueeze window popping up.

Otherwise, SoftSqueeze is so great !!!

Thanks !

Hi,

Softsqueeze version 0.5 is now available at
http://softsqueeze.sourceforge.net

Changes include:
- full mp3 support, volume, mute, etc.
- pause button delay fixed.
- built-in ssh tunnel support.
- java web start and applet support.
- excession skin update
- experimental support for Window DirectSound (requires Java 1.5 beta 1)
- slim server discovery
- experimental record stream option

I would also be interested in feedback on synchronization of non-mp3 streams
in this release. Fixing this is now at the top of my list.

Regards,
Richard
