7.2.1 SlimCenter
Transporter
Vista 32bit

Transporter refuses to FF or rewind because the track is transcoded even though I am setting the FLAC to decode Natively.

Are you playing a flac file to ?

Then I have to guess that you are using flac/cue files.

Is it so one flac file for a whole album then a cue file ?

These have to be transcoded with flac to get each song from it.

Edit:
See this bug report
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=9039 flac/cue FF and rewind is fixed there

If you are using flac/cue then upgrade to 7.3 something i suggests 7.3.3

I was going to say that, but the end result is a per-track flac sent to
the player, no?

So the player ought not to be able to tell the difference from
file-per-track flac, and whole-album+cue flac, since it only ever sees
the former?

cheers,
c.

cue+flac ...hmm..I might as well just transcode to wav so that I can avoid doing 2 transcodes.

Thanks! 7.3 sounds worse than 7.2.1 (should probably reserve this comment for the audiophile section ;)

WAV will increase the bandwith used by your TP if it is wired it won,t matter
if you are on wifi it could lead to problems.

This one is for the twilight zone.

And if going flac > wav you can join the luny bin the *thinks* wav sounds better than flac, why compromize ;)
