Hi

My name is Ryan & I run an Internet alarm clock service called Sleep.FM; wake up to brief, meaningful information. It's similar to the alarm clock in the movie, Iron Man (clip from movie - http://bit.ly/W07C).

We are about to release our service for Squeezebox & Chumby users and we'd love for you to test it out (it's free). Are the directions provided clear or are they confusing?

Here is our beta link http://sleep.fm/playlist

Appreciate any and all feedback!

cheers,
ryan

That's cool! But the site lacks a bit of information what will be
available etc. Eg. the demoed daughter waking up daddy - how would this
work?

Pretty straight forward imho. But I'd probably add information for
SqueezeCenter too.

One minor niggle though: SB alarms by default fade in slowly. This means
that the first few seconds of an announcement might go unheard. Maybe you
should insert a bit more of the music to start with?

Thanks Michael.

What is SqueezeCenter and is there a resource you could point me to?

We currently are focusing on intelligent alarms and will move onto social alarms after. We will notify users when the alarm clock network is finished via email.

I appreciate the heads up re: missing some of the initial wake info. Our female voice plays smooth jazz first then speaks and she might be the better choice of the two until we add more voice/background music options.

Again thank you so much for the feedback; all is welcomed & appreciated!

cheers,
ryan

It's the software you install to feed you own music from your computer to
the SqueezeBox.

Are localized voices and translated weather information part of the
intelligence or the social competence? :-)

Her voice is too soft. But the alarm is looping anyway. Second turn you'll
hear her.

Thanks for the info regarding SqueezeCenter. The interface looks similar to the SqueezeNetwork's web UI if Im not mistaken?

Well we'll be localizing or rather offering the option to hear Celsius temperature soon. Right now for Current Weather we speak Fahrenheit, though for Today's Forecast we speak the temperature using sweltering, hot, chilly, cold, etc... Adding other languages can be done we just need willing voices to help us out there :)

Let us if you have any other suggestions and thanks so much for the feedback!
