View Full Version : Streaming to an iPod touch?
Has this been covered already someplace? I want to stream music to my iPod but I want to control it with SC. If I browse to http://server:9000/stream.mp3 the iPod says it can't play it.
Is there a better way to stream to an iPod from your SC machine?

SimplifyMedia works well, but is a non-SC solution.

I played around with SimplifyMedia a bit. The Linux server dosn't seem to work to well. Seem like a lot more moving parts then I need. I just want a simple solution to stream to iPod.

I've tried this with other apps and it works fine. Pretty cool actually, except it does mean the touch can't do anything else (like remote control) while you're streaming to it. The iTouch/iPhone app is free, you need to pay for Airfoil on the source computer.
Should be able to grab the audio stream from Squeezeplay and send it to the touch. I might try that tonight.
grum
I have tried "Tuner". It's a bit of a nuisance though since you will have to first connect, then exit, play something through iPeng and reconnect. Or you have to use a secondary user interface to control it (on another device).
Planned for iPeng 1.3 :-)
If it's planed for iPeng I'll wait for that. I just bought an iPod this week just to run iPend and it's awesome. It actually has more functionality then my SqueezeController.
