View Full Version : Using an Audrey to listen to slimserver?

Some of the following may not mean much to those not
familiar with the 3com Audrey information appliance or
the QNX os, I apologize.

I installed slimserver software on my Win2K PC, and I
am able to tap into the slimserver mp3 stream by
pointing another networked PC's WinAmp at the
slimserver IP
address(http://localhost:9000/stream.mp3).

But I haven't been able to get Audrey to play the
slimserver stream. I've tried pointing the browser
(voyager) at "http://192.168.0.108:9000/stream.mp3"
with no luck, and pointing the mp3 player (phplay) at
that URL directly (and using a playlist) has given me
a "404 File not found" error.

For what it's worth I've been using one of the
Infinity images with the mpregistry fix. I can get
audrey to play some internet radio streaming mp3's,
both using phplay standalone (pointing to a playlist
file containing the radio station's url) or by
directing voyager to the URL.

Any help would be appreciated, especially from those
slimserver + Audrey users out there.

-j

Hi Johann,

I wish I hadn't given my Audrey to my brother!

The best thing to do would be to go to the Server Settings ->
Additional Server Settings -> Debugging
and turn on the "d_http" option. Then try to connect with your player.

Then you can use this URL:

http://localhost:9000/log.txt

to see the debugging log. If it's not obvious to you what the problem
is post the log here and we'll figure out what's going on.
