View Full Version : Streaming Radio Problem

Been streaming NPR to my linux workstation all week after creating a
playlist on the server:

http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/1062

Last night, I went to listen to the stream on my Squeezebox and got dead
silence. I went over to my linux box, and it streamed just fine. I
then tested it out on two other systems in the house (a powerbook
[wireless, all others wired including SB] and an XP box), both of them
streamed it just fine. It's just the squeezebox that will not stream
it.

I can streamed other internet radio stations to the sb and they work
just fine. IE: MonkeyRadio (http://scastsrv2.shoutcast.com:8038/) works
on both the squeezebox and on any workstation I try. Anyone got any
ideas?

Using SlimServer_v2004-05-13 nightly on a linux server with perl 5.8.3

Are you using the digital output on the Squeezebox? If so, then some
radio stations use low sample rates which may not be supported by the
S/PDIF receiver in your amplifier.

Yes I am...one the main reasons I upgraded to the sb. Bummer, I wasn't
aware of that fact. Thanks for clarifying it.

I have both analog and digital connected to my receiver, when ever a
digital signal is detected it uses that in preference.

My Receiver (Denon AVR-3300) requires that you pick either analog or
digital for each source...

If this stream is a low bitrate, then it will not play through the Squeezebox
digital output. If this is not applicable, please try out the latest nightly
and report on that. SB firmware should be v23.

Not that I have seen, I'll take a closer look at the docs though...
