maybe someone can help. i posted yesterday that my slim server shows 893 albums with 96 songs by 865 artists - an obvious impossibility. but the fact is that i can't play songs when i browse from artist, genre, album or song. the squeezebox gives me a file not found error.

if i try to access from an external stream the slimserver interface for my external player (my laptop in this case) refuses to play. i hit play and it stays on stop. i hit skip and it stays on stop. basically it's not finding the file but not giving an error.

however, i can play files perfectly from 'browse music folder'

repeated rescans of my music folder (a snap server on my network) don't fix the problem.

most importantly - this *used* to work. is this a known bug? i feel like someone would have noticed it by now! ;)

thanks,

t

how about running the server from the command line, OR turning on the d_source
debug switch in server settings. try playing some of the songs that do not
play, and paste that section of the log here. It awfully hard to pick out from
the vast number of reasons why you would get that error, without more details.
